Germantown, MD, 10/12/2012 - Today TechLiberty, Inc, a full service custom software solutions company, announced that the Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded the firm with woman owned 8(a) certification status for a period of nine years. Designed to assist small, woman or minority-owned businesses compete with larger and more established enterprises, SBA 8 (a) program participation would allow TechLibertyInc., greater access to the federal procurement market.
TechLiberty's growth, experience in government contracting to provide Federal IT services have positioned the firm for a successful entree into federal markets. “TechLiberty understands the needs of our Government and always offered smart solutions to meet the challenges.” says Johnson Sabariar, Vice President and CEO. “Participation in the SBA 8(a) program is the next strategic step in TechLiberty's plan to become the leading, fully integrated software solutions company for federal agencies.”
Small and disadvantaged businesses play a key role in the overall U.S. economy. According to the SBA’s Office of Advocacy, small businesses represent about half of the economy’s output. Companies that participate in the SBA 8(a) program receive business development assistance from the SBA and other government agencies. In addition to opportunities to bid for special 8(a)-only, "set-aside" contracts of any size, SBA 8(a) participants are qualified to receive so-called "sole-source" contracts worth up to $5 million.
